chrstndvtt, absolutely yes. To be honest I always thought my first Parks and Rec related doodle would be of Ron but I re-watched season 3 yesterday (it’s on netflix now y’all!) and just fell in love with Ben. I must have been Swanson blinded during my first viewing. Ben Wyatt is my male counterpart. Anyway, yes I will be!
As for prints, I never say no or yes on that subject. As of right now though I do not make prints of any my stuff.

Hello Anon! Yes I can! Sakura Gelly Roll Pens. You mentioned using gel pens but the kind you get really has a lot to do with the quality. As cheap and crafty as I like to keep things sometimes you do have to spend a bit more to get it — it’s well worth it. The white pen specifically is my main squeeze:

As for coloring, I just use markers. I always test out the color on a scrap sheet of paper of the same kind I’m working on to make sure the color will show up as I have in mind. I use to use acrylic but it’s way too messy for me these days.

other-side-of-the-universe, I did! Femme Fatale was this past Saturday and loads of fun! I got to share the wall with some brilliant local female artists.
The show ended a bit early because Magic Mike was set to film a scene or something at The Bricks. I had to sign some release forms in case my stuff ends up in the background of a scene, ha — too funny!

rachelinreallife, I actually have! The times that I’ve sat down and have tried it doesn’t really come out like I want. They’re definitely on my top list of subject matter! :)
theharried, thank you so much! ❤
hogwartsgraduate, oh why thank you! Diggin’ your blog as well! :)
wakecodesleep, good news! That piece is definitely going to become either a poster or a shirt — still haven’t decided. We’ll see!

I am looooving keeping up with your newfound HP love. It's amazing, yes? Thank you for sharing your wondrous tales and newly inspired artwork!!!

Thank you so much! And yes, actually whatever tops the word “amazing” — that’s what it is.

I have a surprise for my fellow HP fans coming within in the next two months (hopefully) — can’t wait!

ABC Family is having a marathon of all the movie this weekend btw.
Stoked yer getting into HP. Might have to drop some dollhairs on some potter doodles :]

Miss you!
<3 Rosie

I do hope this is the Rosie I think it is because if so, I miss ya too! Still college-ing it up?

Unfortunately I don’t have ABC Family. Actually it’s probably for the best because knowing me, I wouldn’t have gotten anything done this weekend. And as curious as I am about all those sneak previews, I rather not be spoiled. :)

Hope everything is well! ❤

I'm very glad you're enjoying Harry Potter. I was in elementary school when the first book ever came out, so Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life. Anyone who knows me well enough, or at least knew me long enough, knew how passionate I was about this series. J.K. Rowling made a huge impact on my life, and I admire and respect her so much.

I'm enjoying your Harry Potter themed doodles very much, and I hope you continue to create and share them. I adore the lovely Jenyffer Maria touch to them. Remember, swish & flick! Hah, of course you know that, and probably mastered it already. Your art is clearly the magnificent magical works of a brilliant witch <3

What a wonderful message to wake up to this morning, thank you.

I honestly don’t know what took me so long. I enjoyed the first book so much when it first came out, I had just started 6th grade. Next thing I know the movies and all the other books came out and it was just way too overwhelming. I didn’t want to watch any of the movies until I read all the books, imagine that. I’ve had the books boxed up for years.

I caved about a week ago, my friend and I had a marathon. She told me to just watch the movies first, it’ll make you appreciate the books more. So true, J.K. Rowling is beyond brilliance.

I’ve also been reading along with Stephen Fry, although I end up muting him and reading by myself a lot because I get so anxious in some parts — so good.

It’s just nice to know that at my age I can still be impacted like this. I am still rather young but am starting to feel aged, ha.

:)

Hey so I go to USF and we have an assignment where we have to send a letter to a gallery (well, we have to find 50 in Tampa, then five that might show us, then actually apply to one for a show) and I was wondering where you've shown? I do a lot of pen work and watercolor and I thought you might know of some places that would actually show my work. If you could send me in the right direction that'd be great! Really love your work! :)

[5]art, Tempus Projects, and Kick Start My Art have been the most talented and supportive group of people I’ve encountered in the area.

[5]art and Tempus Project have pretty much set exhibitions and schedules but at time do open submissions. (I may be wrong though, so check out their website(s) for more infomation.)

Kick Start My Art actually just had an open submission for their next showing at The Bricks in Ybor. Definitely get on their mailing list, they usually have a show every month.

Lastly, I became aware that the boba tea place next to University mall does shows. To my knowledge, anyone can put on a show but it has to be made up by a group of people. So if you’re feeling ambitious and you have 3 other artsy friends, let me know — we’ll put on a show!

Thank you and much luck! If you need further help or references don’t hesitate to email me: jenyffermaria@gmail.com

Are you coming into town for Away In The Woods?

That’s the plan! Actually seeing your work in person was one of the main selling points for taking the mini road-trip down there.

:)

helloooo, I was just wondering when your online shop will re-open? I've just found your blog and I love your doodles!

Tomorrow!

I’ve been in Virginia but I’m heading back home (Florida) in the morning. I don’t have that much up at the moment though but I have a few new things in the works including: t-shirts, posters, and more pendants.

Look out! (And thanks/welcome❤!)

Which Britney Spears video is your favorite? I love "Lucky". :)
Anonymous

Ahahaha, I love this question.

I’m going to have to say “(You Drive Me) Crazy" mostly because I vividly remember watching the making of the video as a kid. I’m pretty sure I can still bust out the choreography, thanks to "Darrin’s Dance Grooves”.

There are so many to pick from though. “Lucky" is definitely up there along with: "Toxic" and "Everytime”. “Baby One More Time" and "Oops… I Did it Again" go with out saying because they’re pop classics.

I absolutely love the video for “Hold it Against Me" but I just hate all the product placements.

:D

i saw this and thought of you since you're the only self-proclaimed doodler i know! :)

Thanks for the heads up!

I have a mission for you, if you choose to accept: find more doodlers! You need more doodlers in your life. In fact, I’m sure if confronted with a pen and paper and a boring phone call you’ll find one.

dude i was just thinking about gubler earlier today! did you do that drawing of him you just posted? i love it! he's so fuckin awesome. i love his drawings.

I did! Funny thing is I drew that up about a year ago:

and a couple of months ago Terry Richardson posted the live action version which I thought was just too neat, lol.

Yeah, he’s a great visual artist.

:)

I was just curious about your taste in music. Who do you like?

Whenever I’m asked this question I refer to this: I Hate Whatever Music You Like

I listen to everything. I’m not just saying that, ha. Anyone that knows me personally can vouch for that. If I like it, I’ll listen to it. The term guilty pleasure does not exist in my vocabulary. If I like it, I like it — no shame. Mainstream or underground, I appreciate it all.

Aside from Nintendo, music has been my biggest investment — emotionally, physically, and financially. I’ve been to so many shows, I’ve long lost count. (This one being my favorite of all time. That’s me singing, front row center! Ahhahaha! Video via insideoutnight) The last show I attended was Beach House and Vampire Weekend — I think…

To be specific though, you’ll come to learn quickly that I’m a sucker for pop music. I’m anxiously waiting for the new releases of Britney Spears and Lady Gaga but just 2 weeks ago I was creaming my pants over Radiohead’s “The King of Limbs" and Kanye West’s new video for "All of the Lights" directed by Hype Williams.

At the moment, I’m listening to Robyn’s “Body Talk”.

Hey what are you getting into in the virginia beach area? Glad to hear that you are enjoying your time and the weather! I am an artist that lives in the surrounding norfolk area!

Your blog is great btw!

-Lara<3

Thank you!

Well, my friend and amazing singer/songwriter JoAnna Lynne is having an album release party on the 4th. I’m helping her make some merch and selling it at the show. You should by, it’s gonna be super fun!

Yes, the weather is lovely! I am so jealous, I wish I could bring it back home with me.

So are there any cool places or neat artsy things happening in Norfolk I should check out? The last time I was here they had an event going on “Art Everywhere” that I really enjoyed.

:)
