Okay so you know how I mentioned art trading? Well one of the highlights of this past year was trading art with a Mister Matthew Gray Gubler. I was taking a painting class a year ago and decided to use his character on Criminal Minds as a subject for a series on flies. Around the same time I was doing a lot of blind contour drawing and couldn’t help using him again as a subject.
My sister who is an avid fan suggested I send him the pieces because he very much appreciates “fan art” and actually devotes an album on his myspace called, Awesome Fan Town Art. I was surprised and as you can imagine thrilled to receive the offer of an art trade:
